On June 1, 2016 Saturn Is Going To Be Very Close To The Earth And You Dare Not Miss It!

National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has confirmed the news that on June 1, 2016, Saturn will be closest to Earth than it has ever been in the past 10,000 years. This astronomical sight is going to be really special, especially for all astronomy lovers and students.

The last few years have been really incredible for NASA and other space agencies of the world, especially for Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The search of life on Mars has been the major attraction in the last couple of years.

This sight is going to be 'unlike any other astronomical sight.'

NASA spokesperson George Pooler says-

Saturn does not often come this close to Earth, and this will be a sight no one currently living has ever seen.

He says that NASA hopes to see the opposite side of Saturn as it rotates by.

The other side of the second largest planet in our solar system has never been photographed yet.

This isn't going to be an ordinary space event!

We are extremely excited to be able to study this planet better, but also, that people will be able to get a glimpse of an amazing, ringed planet, which is not something normally able to happen," Pooler continues.

In 1930, Saturn came very close, but not as close as it will come this time

We have some images of Saturn from the last rotation, but this will be an amazing sight that will blow the last time out of the water.

We are expecting this worldwide spectacle on June 1st 2016.

NASA spokesman Pooler informed about the timing of the space event. "we will be able to see Saturn here in the United States at 4:45 PM EST and in the United Kingdom at 9:45 PM ET

Summer Olympic Games in Rio May Be in Danger

Summer Olympic Games in Rio May Be in Danger

With the concerns over the threat coming from Zika virus growing, more and more sports experts consider the possible danger the Games may pose to the Olympic athletes’ health. Can the virus cause the change of the location of the2016 Summer Games or lead to their complete cancellation? Judging from the current situation, the chances that this years’ Olympic Games will not take place in Rio are very low. Still, we have lately heard some really disturbing messages from the sports officials of the biggest countries-participants of the Games.
The Americans should think twice before going to Brazil?

The Americans should think twice before going to Brazil?

Many media outlets, including Reuters, reported that U.S. officials have some concerns about whether American athletes should go to Brazil. Some sources even claimed that there was a conference call from the U.S. Olympic Committee officials to the heads of the biggest sports federations in the U.S back in January. The main reason for the call was the possible danger hidden in the Zika virus and the growing concerns over the possible harm to female athletes.
According to a Reuters report, USOC officials recommended the athletes who feel uncertain about the Zika virus threat consider not going to Rio this summer. On the other hand, USOC spokesman Patrick Sandusky made a statement this Monday, Feb. 8, denying any recommendations from the USOC officials to skip the upcoming Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Although Sandusky denies that the USOC officials suggested American athletes may skip the Olympics in Rio if they are afraid of Zika, the organization continues to pay attention to the threat coming from the quickly spreading virus. According to a report made by Associated Press, the USOC is going to hire two experts in the infectious disease area. The Committee wants these specialists to help the American athletes who will take part in the upcoming competition in Brazil and give them some advice about the Zika virus.
Zika virus

British Olympic athletes are concerned over the Zika virus outbreak

After the World Health Organization declared a global public emergency due to the burgeoning Zika virus outbreak, Great Britain’s athletes got one more reason to be concerned about the upcoming competition. But, according to the British Olympic Association, no athlete from Team Great Britain suggested not to go to Brazil this summer and skip the Games because of the virus.
To make sure that there is no danger for the athletes, the BOA is working in association with the British Paralympic Association to develop a specific guidance note for the athletes. The note will include all the latest medical advice for the athletes and the staff to prevent them from getting infected. The note, in particular, focuses on the most important facts about Zika and the key strategies to prevent the virus from spreading. The mosquito bite preventionpresents as one of the key strategies for stopping the Zika virus outbreak and protecting the athletes during their time in Brazil.
Kenya

Kenya is also concerned

Kenya is also on the list of the countries that are deeply concerned about the possible threat of Zika virus. Moreover, Kenyan athletes may become the first team to officially skip the Games because of the virus.
According to the latest BBC report, Team Kenya threatened to skip the upcoming Summer Olympic Games in Brazil if the virus outbreak gets to the epidemic level. Kipchoge Keino, the head of the Kenya’s Olympic Committee previously said that his country is “not going to risk taking Kenyans there” if Zika virus reaches epidemic levels and the threat becomes more serious.

Hope Solo

What is the threat behind Zika?

With six more months ahead before Rio Olympics, most athletes still hope that there will be a safe solution founded. Yet some of them, like U.S. soccer goalkeeper Hope Solo, confess that if they have to make a decision today, they will probably refuse to go to Brazil.
We have to notice that the female athletes obviously have the biggest reason to be concerned about the Zika virus outbreak and its consequences. Although the virus itself is not deadly, it may be the major cause of the rising amount of the newborns with microcephaly—a congenital disorder that affects baby’s brain. Kids with microcephaly have abnormally small head and serious cognitive development problems.
The problem is that there is an obvious correlation between the number of Zika virus cases among female patients and the number of newborns with microcephaly. Only in Brazil, the number of kids born with microcephaly has raised from 147 in 2014 to 4,074 in 2015, according to the Independent report. The Zika virus is believed to be spread mostly by mosquitoes, but according to a recent report from the U.S. researchers, it can also be transmitted through sexual contact. The biggest problem is that there is still no confirmed cure for the virus. Meanwhile, Zika is still believed to be harmless for males and grown-up women who are not pregnant and not planning to have a baby in the near future.

FIFA Corruption Crisis, Footballer Sex Tape… What Is Next?

FIFA Corruption Crisis, Footballer Sex Tape… What Is Next?

FIFA Corruption Crisis, Footballer Sex Tape… What Is Next? The previous year gave us a lot of things to think and talk about, especially in the field of soccer. There was a footballer blackmailing his teammate, a number of FIFA officials charged with corruption, and lots of unclear situations that have changed the world of soccer. SportDailyTimes will remind you about the most shocking scandals involving football players, coaches, world famous teams, and organizations.

Corruption crisis in FIFA

Corruption crisis in FIFA

It will be very hard to find at least one newspaper that did not pay at least some attention to the story of FIFA officials arrested in Zürich last spring. Seven FIFA officials were charged with corruption and arrested by Swiss police. Alongside that scandal, FIFA’s president Sepp Blatter was accused of paying $2 million to Michele Platini back in 2011. At the end of December 2015, FIFA Ethics Committee announced that both Michel Platini and Sepp Blatter are banned from all football-related activities for eight years.
French soccer sex scandal

French soccer sex scandal

For French soccer players and fans, 2015 was rich with both shocking and disappointing news. Last summer, a French soccer player Mathieu Valbuena made a statement about somebody blackmailing him and demanding to pay a large amount of money. If the player disagreed to follow the blackmailers’ requirements, they were going to reveal a sex tape with Valbuena on it just before the upcoming EURO 2016 Championship.
Unfortunately for the blackmailers, the French footballer went to the police and told the officers about a blackmail. In November, Valbuena’s teammate from the French National Team Karim Benzema was placed under a formal judicial investigation. Although the athlete claims that he is completely innocent, there are a few facts that allow us to believe otherwise. In the case with thatfootballer, blackmail is not the only scandal he was involved in recent years. Along with blackmailing his colleague, Benzema is suspected of being involved in trafficking substances that are extremely dangerous and completely out of the law, rather than some kind of the footballer drugs that may be used as a medicine or a doping. Supposedly, Karim Benzema was close to a few people who were trying to organize cocaine traffic from Ecuador and Dominican Republic to Europe.
What is next?

What is next?

Apparently, this year will give us even more headlines to talk about. The biggest corruption scandal in the FIFA history is not over yet, just like the case of Karim Benzema. Not to mention a number of the large soccer events coming this year, including UERO 2016 in France, Copa America 2016 Centenario in the U.S., and the Olympic Football Tournaments in Rio. Subscribe and follow us on Facebook and Twitter, and you will not miss the most intriguing news from the world of sports.

It's Official: Bitcoin Was The Top Performing Currency Of 2015

For most investors, the major story of 2015 was the expectation and eventual fulfillment of a rate hike, signalling the start of tightening monetary policy in the United States. This policy is divergent to those of other major central banks, and this has translated into considerable strength and momentum for the U.S. dollar.
Using the benchmark of the U.S. Dollar Index, a comparison against a basket of major currencies, the dollar gained 8.3% throughout the year.
Despite this strength, the best performing currency in 2015 was not the dollar. In fact, the top currency of 2015 is likely to be considered the furthest thing from the greenback.
Bitcoin, a digital and decentralized cryptocurrency, staged a late comeback in 2015 to overtake the dollar by a whopping 35% by the end of the year.

Bitcoin is no stranger to extremes. During the year it came into the mainstream in 2013, Bitcoin gained 5,429% to easily surpass all other currencies in gains. However, the following year it would become a dog, losing -56% of its value to become the world’s worst performing currency in 2014.
The second best performing major currency, relative to the USD, was the Israeli shekel. It gained 0.3% throughout the year, and the Japanese yen (0%) and Swiss franc (0%) were close behind, finishing on par with how they started the year.
The world’s worst performing currencies are from countries that were battered by commodities or geopolitical strife.
Ukraine’s hryvnia fell -33.8% in the aftermath of Crimea. Brazil’s real (-30.5%), the Canadian dollar (-15.9%), Russian ruble (-20.8%), and South African rand (-26.7%) all lost significant value in the purging of global commodities. Gold finished the year down -10%, and silver at -11%.
And as China devaluation accelerates, Bitcoin has been surging since the start of the year...

The only question that matters at the Detroit Auto Show: Do you like luxury?

Dsc_0100-2

January is pretty much "car month" now.
First, we rang in the new year with a slew of techie debuts at 2016 International CES in Las Vegas. Now, we head straight into the the North American International Auto Show also known as the Detroit Auto Show.
SEE ALSO: If 2016 CES proved anything, it's that self-driving EVs are king
Though CES looked to the future with self-driving cars and long-range electrified vehicles, Detroit will keep it a little closer to Earth with some trucks, crossovers and sedans (let's not forget concepts) ready for showrooms as soon as this spring.
Coming off the heels of the very car-heavy CES, I've come away with a few predictions for 2016 Detroit. The show this year will be dominated by two major themes: Utility and luxury. No matter if its a concept or a production car, everything we're about to be shown in the Motor City falls into one of those two categories.
To underscore that prediction, here are the things we know will be there, and a few more we are anticipating.

Utility

Utility will take all sorts of forms in Detroit this week, ranging from the new Chrysler minivan up to an expected Nissan truck concept.

Intriguingly, right in the middle of the two will be the second-generation Honda Ridgeline pickup. That we expect to take the lead set by the new full-size Pilot crossover and add to it some, well, truck-y features. Rumor has it that unlike the last Ridgeline that was boxy and looked more like a Japanese Chevy Avalanche ripoff, the new Ridgeline will be rounder and also have a much more defined pickup shape.
The Ridgeline, while questionable in the marketplace when it first debuted in 2005, is much more relevant now. That's because the reintroduced Chevy Colorado mid-size pickup, along with the new Toyota Tacoma, has proved a sales juggernaut. Honda is likely keen to butch up the 2016 Ridgeline in order to compete.

Intriguingly, Kia is also rumored to be readying a full-size SUV concept called Telluride that, if sent into production, will ride an interesting line in the segment. Based upon the placement of the Kia K900 and Cadenza, it will likely be positioned against SUVs like the Acura MDX and maybe even the Mercedes-Benz GLS (though that last one might be more aspirational than anything).
Making full circle, we have the new Chrysler minivan, which is long, long overdue. In fact, it's been so long since Chrysler has redone a minivan that its questionable that there's even room in the marketplace for it. Not only do the Japanese with the Toyota Sienna and Honda Odyssey own the segment, the minivan market has all but dried up in the last few years. That's because, just as the minivan killed the station wagon, the crossover is killing the minivan.

As the Gen-Xers and now the Millennials begin buying family-hauling rigs, they look away from the symbols of the Baby Boom buyer and into something a bit more modern. It'll be interesting to see what Chrysler can do to attract buyers to the minivan again. Likely, it'll use technology to entice buyers, as the Japanese have versatility and reliablity locked down.
Additionally, we'll see a new GMC Acadia crossover based upon the Cadillac XT5 make its debut as well as a new Buick said to be called the "Envision."

Luxury

Along with a strong showing of utility, Detroit will also pose the question, "Do you like luxury?", which, given the state of the city, is a strange question to ask. Regardless, that's how it appears to be shaping up.
That's because Detroit will mark the global debut of several luxurious offerings, including the semi-autonomous 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class loaded with tech from Mercedes' IAA conceptas well as the hotly anticipated 2017 Lincoln Continental.
That, however, is just where the luxury land-ship unveilings begin. Lexus will also show its all-new LC 500 range-topping coupe that was hinted with the LF-LC concept coupe in 2012. And Hyundai will also turn up its premium sedan game with the Genesis G90 sedan.

Speaking of the letter G, the formerly-named Infiniti G37 coupe has been remade as well and will debut with new styling as the Q60 this week. The Volvo S90 will make its North American debut in the Motor City. So, too, will the 2017 Porsche 911 Turbo and 911 Turbo S.
Intriguingly, Henrik Fisker, the namesake behind the now-infamous Fisker Karma plug-in hybrid sports sedan failure that originally competed with the Tesla Model S, will show his latest concept in Detroit. It's called the "Force 1" and will be a high-performance sedan with American-made components underpinning it.

Lastly, right before its all-new plug-in hybrid NSX goes on sale, Acura will debut a new design concept that will show what its updated design language will look like going into the second half of the decade. Hopefully, it will be a handsome beast indeed. Right now, Acura's cars are good but not very exciting to look at. A design reinvigoration as well as a new halo supercar could really turn the floundering Japanese luxury brand around — at least from a sales standpoint.
Of course, with these luxury offerings, we'll likely see sumptuous interiors, gobs of horsepower and some distinctive tech accoutrements as well. That's cool, but certainly none of it will overshadow what we saw at the International CES last week.
However, that's OK. CES showed where the industry will be in a few years — Detroit will underscore where it is right now.
